Sunday Startup - Media

Arrival times:

  • First service (8:30): by 7:45 preferred — run-through is at 8:00.
  • Second service (10:30): by 10:20.

Startup

  1. Turn on all of the TVs:
    • Front TVs — remote is near the battery chargers behind the grand piano on stage
    • Stage display (mounted on the balcony wall) — remote is usually near the light switches right under the TV. This shows a confidence view: just the text, large.
    • Back TVs — remote is in the sound booth
  2. Sign into the MEDIA1 PC (password: rbcmedia)
  3. Launch Proclaim from the taskbar
  4. Open the presentation with the correct date — both services use the same one
  5. Click On Air and make sure slides show on all of the TVs and you have audio on the sound board. Playing a video is a good way to test the audio.

Run-through (8:00)

During the run-through, make sure the song order in Proclaim matches what the band actually plays. Check with the worship leader if unsure.

Pre-service loop and countdown

The pre-service loop is scripted inside Proclaim and runs itself:

  • The Loop section loops continuously.
  • The Warmup section plays once — this is where the countdown lives. It's scripted to start so it ends right at service start time. This is automatic.
  • When the countdown ends at 8:30/10:30, the welcome video normally plays automatically, then lands on the welcome logo slide.

From the welcome logo slide on, you're in manual control.

During the service

Navigate with the spacebar, the next arrow, or by clicking the slide.

  1. Opening — there may be a scripture or photos to begin with.
  2. Songs — follow along, trying to stay a few words ahead. Normally 2 songs.
  3. Video — after the songs there should be a video:
    1. Before the video is a blank slide — go there to fade out any pads still playing.
    2. Cue the sound person and make sure the video channel is open.
    3. Play the video. It ends on a blank slide.
  4. Sermon — if one pastor is preaching there's one section; if two, there may be a section for each service — just pay attention. Follow along with the pastor for scriptures, notes, and any images.
  5. Altar call — at the end there's a slide that says Instrumental Music, for when there are no musicians on stage. Click it to play piano music. The next slide fades it out.
  6. Closing — there may be a scripture to end, then the closing slide.

Between services

Play the pre-service loop again — it will start the music. Keep the volume light.

Shutdown

  1. Lock the PC
  2. Turn off the monitors

Never shut the computers down

Lock the PC when you're done — do not shut it down.
