Sunday Startup - Live Stream
Only the second service is streamed — first service is at 8:30 (no live stream), second service is at 10:30. Arrive by 10:15 if possible.
The live streams should already be scheduled on Facebook and YouTube — that happens Saturday night during service prep. See Scheduling a Live Stream.
Startup
-
Log into the MEDIA2 PC (password: rbcmedia)
-
Launch vMix from the taskbar
-
At the top menu, click the drop down arrow beside Open
-
Select the latest version
-
Turn on the PTZ camera using the control software on the desktop
-
Once vMix has loaded the preset, check that everything is working:
- All cameras show up in vMix
- The PTZ joystick responds
- The Stream Deck works
Going live
The streams start automatically — Companion kicks off the automations. You just need to watch that they come up:
- 10:20 — Stream 1 goes live to Facebook
- 10:25 — Stream 2 goes live to YouTube
- 10:30 — Recording starts (saves to Documents on the MEDIA2 PC)
The recording is kept as a backup in case the internet goes down mid-service or the video is needed for something later.
Invalid stream key at 10:20
Sometimes Facebook isn't ready and vMix shows an invalid stream key error. If that happens, see Live Stream Troubleshooting.
Once both streams show red in vMix:
-
Check the Facebook and YouTube tabs in Chrome and make sure each stream is actually going out on its platform.
-
Monitor the audio in vMix and make sure it sounds good.
During the service
Switch cameras using the Stream Deck and follow along with the service.
Shutdown
Once the service is over:
-
Stop the recordings and streams in vMix
-
Close vMix
-
Turn off the PTZ camera
-
Lock the computer
Never shut the computers down
Lock the PC when you're done — do not shut it down.
